Hi Guys,
I'm going to start this post with a positive. Most of my posts today have had quite negative content.
Yaaay! I've found a test model that I used during Beta-Testing which fits into the category -
'Renders faster than expected!'
My corridor model was a test-bed for glow lighting tests. It is 27mb in size and features a combination of traditional lights and 'Glow' lights. It looks like this...
Here's the positive part of the post... I opened the model, opened the control panel and Render window of V.2.0.7 and before I realised what had happened the preview was there staring at me.
This surprised me a little, so I tried a refresh and seconds later the preview was back. I have gotten used to slow regeneration of scenes.
I stood back in amazement!
So I thought it must be time to try another Panorama. Warily, I set an 800x800 panorama to go and pressed 'Render'. Much to my surprise, less than 30 minutes later I was looking at a completed Panorama!
Then the other side of the 'coin' turned up. I panned around and thought..."It's a bit dark in here..." and suddenly I noticed gaping black holes in the structure of parts of the corridor where there shouldn't be any.
This is a problem that was identified again during the Beta-test period and I thought it had been corrected. I didn't see any problems when I checked out each scene in my model there were about 8 of them, the previews looked good, not a black hole to be seen. They first started to be obvious during the creation of the panorama.
So, once again, I have a useless panorama, but at least it didn't take nearly 10 hours like the last one I tried.
I have no idea why a 27mb file generates previews in seconds and a panorama in 30 minutes, when a 13mb file takes several minutes to generate a preview and nearly 10 hours to create a panorama!
What am I missing?
Ok Team, this is another one for you.

It should look more like this (I changed the lights after this test model was used)
